Zom Zoms – Vinyl EP 12″ (45 RPM)
Zom Philmapster and Zoms Frenchman have come a long way since the pair’s ’03 debut, Lumboba’s Tube. This EP has enlisted the help of Zom’s cousin Phil and Seth Nemic on Roland SH-101 and Moog Source, respectively. Originally released in ’05, several months before the album “Yellow Rainbow,” it contains two non-album tracks, “Love Story,” and “EEE OOO.” Zom Zoms, a now defunct Austin synth-punk band, played several SXSW festivals, and toured extensively throughout the U.S. Their spazzy music has been likened to the Residents, XTC, and also Captain Beefheart’s stream-of-conscious type lyrical frivolity. It sounds even more like Beefheart when played at 33 RPM!
