IF 01 The beginning of IF. Colleen Matzke lends her drawings to Morgan Coy’s Days of Bloat novella and Over the Hill’s self-titled album.
From synth orgy crescendos to calm, culty psychedelia, Over the Hill constructs its own world and ushers the listener inside of it. With help from fellow Austin musicmakers Thor Harris (Shearwater and Smog) and Kirk Laktas (My Education), this album hints at a country twang, yet doesn’t feel like country music. It feels like something new and forming, with glimmers of the familiar.
