News
These will be available the next two weekends at Bearded Lady Screenprinting (3504 B East 4th Street) for E.A.S.T. After that they will be available from our online store. Woo Hooo
This is a short selection from the series of animations and drawings entitles Nagualia, by Jules Buck Jones and Morgan Coy.
This body of work combines performance, photography, drawing, animation, projectors, costumes, and sculpture to illustrate transformations of humans and animals into and out of each other. The work is a collaborative effort by Jules Buck Jones and Morgan Coy, both interested in ideas of transformation, and hybridization and the mythological, scientific, and spiritual bases of such actions and occurrences.
The music for this video is by the band Trans Upper Egypt. It is available on the album North African Berserk, which rules. Morgan and Jules were listening to the song when they made the video shown here.
Join us at Co Lab (613 Allen Street) on Sept. 22nd for the opening reception.
Yo!
It’s getting toasty outside. We got the summer time zines to cool you down.
For this summer release of Monofonus zines, we have our biggest group of bookmakers yet! Photographs from around the states and beyond by Justine Kurland, Cameron Stallones (Sun Araw), Joanna Cowan, Ramona Flume, Elliott Hostetter, and Rebecca Bengal. Writing, poetry, and life advice from Drunk Dial, William Z. Saunders, Caroline McCloskey, Chrissy Paszalek, Joshua Saunders, Andy Rihn. And comics by Grant Cross, Karen Davidson, Morgan Coy, Chris Chalik, and Simon Parsons.
There’s a small and strange book for everyone, but not many, so come on out and grab some first (and potentially only) editions. Most of the runs are between 20-40 copies–get them if you can at DOMY books or Monofonus Press online while supplies last. Release party at Domy on June 6th at 7pm. 5 to 10 minute performances by expensive shit every hour.
In case you missed our past zines…
