Sir John Wesley Coleman III
John Wesley Coleman, much like that of his namesake, John Wesley Hardin, comes from a fugitive place of whiskey drinking, depravity and poor hygiene — and that’s no coincidence. Hailing from the bosom of football country, otherwise known as Irving, TX, and comprising one-fifth of Austin’s psych-country outfit the Golden Boys, Coleman is well on his way to becoming a Texas legend. You’ll believe us when you hear the live track of JWC doing “Faith,” available as the b-side to his Ghettoblaster 7″!!!!
Lucky for us, Coleman compiled his years of wisdom into American Trashcan, the homespun, lo-fi recordings and poetry that make up the third installment of our IF Series, a collaboration with the artist Colleen Matzke we like to call IF03.
