Colleen Matzke

Colleen Matzke builds terrariums out of old chandaliers and paints dreamscapes on pieces of trash. She grew up a small farmer in Upstate New York where she learned magical secrets about nurturing the earth and discovering splendor in the discarded. Formerly a nurse working with mentally handicapped adults at the Austin State School, she currently works at a community health clinic and is mastering macrame while she continues to repurpose found materials for creative endeavors.

Monofonus has been lucky enough to have had Colleen collaborate on two installments of our IF Series: IF01, with the author Morgan Coy and band Over the Hill; and IF03, with the author and musician John Wesley Coleman III.
